Education Technician (MVO)

Serve as an NPS representative to school district administrators, curriculum directors, teachers, park partners, historic societies, and the local community. Lead youth leadership development programs. Participate in teacher workshops and assist in the development of curriculum-based materials and personal services to schools on- or off-site. Provide for oversight of special emphasis children's programs like the Junior Ranger or Web Ranger. Operate a commercial vehicle to drive students to and from programs. Develop and present interpretive programs to the general public. Participate in the park's special events. Assist with the park's daily operations. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/11/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Requirement:
The duties of this position involve operation of vehicles that require the operator to possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsements. You must have a valid Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement OR possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a Class A CDL with Passenger Endorsement within 1 year of start date. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes instruction in curriculum-based youth educational programs or environmental education such as:
presenting environmental educational programs to varied groups of individuals; coordinating special events, speaker programs, and teacher workshops; and designing and producing information and education displays, packets, brochure, newsletters, websites, and other media. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
