94 Monthly Contra Costa Health currently has a full-time, temporary opportunity for a Driver Clerk.
Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide routine clerical and manual work; provide messenger and delivery services between County offices and branches; and will perform other related work as required.
The work requires clerical, manual and driving skills.
A basic responsibility is the proper operation of a motor vehicle along an established route.
Delivering and stopping are normally made in accordance with an established time schedule.
Manual work is required in loading and unloading bulky packages of books and supplies, as well as medical equipment.
Clerical work is required in keeping inventory and supply records, records of items received and delivered, and patient registration.
Positions in this class are exempt from classified service and work in State and/or federally funded project positions administered by Contra Costa County.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Education:
Possession of a high school diploma, G.
E.
D.
proficiency, or high school equivalency certificate.
License Required:
Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's license as required to perform the essential job functions of the position.
Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process and/or possession of a valid State of California Class B Driver's license when assigned to operate the Bookmobile.
Experience:
Six months of experience as a Bindery Worker or Storeroom Clerk in Contra Costa County, OR
Experience:
One year of full-time, or its equivalent, experience driving a vehicle for a professional service or agency, or sorting, delivering and picking up of mail.
Knowledge of:
The California Motor Vehicle Code as it pertains to operation of a motor vehicle.
Ability to:
Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports Understand and follow written and verbal directions Deal tactfully and courteously with other County employees, coworkers and the public Do manual work required in loading and unloading heavy and bulky items Operate a large motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner Meet the demands of a scheduled route with multiple stops For consideration, please submit your resume and cover letter to May Park at email protected .
